About

Jordan L. Damron is a West Virginia attorney and strategic communications professional whose career has been built at the intersection of law, government, and executive leadership. A lifelong West Virginian, Jordan brings to every engagement a rare combination of legal rigor, institutional knowledge, and communications expertise developed over more than a decade of service at the highest levels of state government and private practice.

Jordan holds a Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law, where he served as a Senior Editor of the West Virginia Law Review, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Finance from the WVU Honors College. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and both federal district courts in West Virginia.

His professional philosophy is simple: clients and partners deserve counsel that is not only legally sound, but strategically informed by a genuine understanding of how institutions — governmental, corporate, and civic — actually function. That understanding is not theoretical. It has been earned.

Professional Background

Current
Principal — Damron Law PLLC & Damron Productions LLC
Charleston, West Virginia

Jordan operates Damron Law PLLC, his Charleston-based legal practice, and Damron Productions LLC, the family production enterprise he co-owns and operates with his wife, Emma.

Prior
Senior Associate — Carey Douglas Kessler & Ruby PLLC
One of West Virginia's most prominent boutique litigation firms

Following the conclusion of the Governor's two-term limit, Jordan departed state government and served as a Senior Associate at Carey Douglas Kessler & Ruby PLLC, one of West Virginia's most prominent boutique litigation firms, where he counseled Fortune 500 clients on complex civil matters in federal court, with a focus on constitutional interpretation and administrative law.

Seven Years
Senior Staff — Office of the Governor of West Virginia
Governor Jim Justice Administration

Jordan spent seven years as senior staff to West Virginia Governor Jim Justice, one of the most consequential tenures in the modern history of the West Virginia Governor's Office. In that capacity, he served in a combined legal counsel and communications leadership role, advising the Governor and executive agencies on legal matters, policy development, legislative affairs, and the full breadth of executive branch communications.

During his tenure, Jordan directed the communications infrastructure of the entire West Virginia executive branch — overseeing strategy, messaging, media relations, and digital operations across dozens of state agencies. He managed communications and marketing professionals throughout state government, maintained direct relationships with the state and national press corps, and served as the administration's primary liaison to major media markets including Washington, D.C. and New York City. He accompanied the Governor to the White House on multiple occasions and was present for virtually every significant decision of the administration across those years.

On the legal side, Jordan provided direct counsel to the Governor on executive orders, legislation, constitutional questions, regulatory matters, and policy initiatives. He served as a resource on formal legal analyses, and was among the small number of advisors with direct, unfiltered access to the Governor's decision-making.

Damron Law — Practice Areas

The firm's practice encompasses government relations and strategic consulting, business and transactional law, election and political law, energy and natural resources, intellectual property, real estate, and estate planning.

Damron Law PLLC serves individuals, businesses, and organizations seeking focused, senior-level counsel without the overhead and inefficiency of a large firm model. The firm is built on a straightforward conviction: that clients are best served by counsel who understands not only the law, but the environment in which the law operates — the legislative dynamics, the regulatory culture, the political landscape, and the human relationships that ultimately determine outcomes.

That is precisely the perspective Jordan brings to every matter.

Damron Productions LLC

Damron Productions LLC is a full-service event production and media company with roots in West Virginia broadcasting and live production spanning more than five decades. What began as Randy Damron's passion for radio and live events in the 1970s has grown across generations into one of the region's most experienced and versatile production operations, now led by Jordan and his wife, Emma Damron.

The Damron family has produced some of West Virginia's most iconic events, including the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta, the Charleston Rod Run and Doo Wop — long one of the largest classic car shows on the Eastern Seaboard — and major productions on behalf of elected officials, corporations, and community organizations across the state. Jordan's introduction to production came at age ten, running sound and video for church services alongside his father. That foundation has informed decades of professional work at every scale, from intimate private events to large-scale government productions and statewide broadcasts.

Damron Productions serves clients throughout West Virginia and the broader region, with an expanding presence in the South Carolina market.
